Tarlant is one of the first family-owned houses to go against the grain and make a decision to never sell grapes to the big houses of Champagne. By the early twentieth century, it had become increasingly common for the big Champagne houses, who even then had a strong hold on commercialization, to bring in fruit from all over France and even different countries. Tarlant was at the forefront against this practice, fighting for the establishment of the AOC Champagne region in 1927.

Zero is a reflection of the four villages and the goal is to express a Champagne without the external additives masking the land's characteristics. Hand-harvested estate vines across 63 parcels in the villages near Oeuilly in the Vallée de la Marne. The final rosé blend is typically around 75% current-vintage wine with 25% reserve wine, in this case, the base is 2015. It was bottled in July 2016 and disgorged in February 2021 with zero dosage.
