Venica’s Pinot Grigio comes from a DOC Collio vineyard.  Pinot Grigio is a gray-skinned grape, born from a genetic mutation of the celebrated Pinot Noir varietal.  When allowed to ripen fully, Pinot Grigio can create complex and flavorful wines, but many of the cheaper imports to the US are harvested very early when the acid is high and flavor is low. Venica's Jesera is made with riper fruit, developing flavor more akin to the Pinot Gris of Alsace or Oregon. Both lively and savory, refreshing and juicy, creamy but with a long and vibrant finish.
