Closerie du Pelan Bordeaux Rouge, France 2010

Pelan is owned by the Amoreau family, who has run the Le Puy estate since 1610. Just like Le Puy's vineyards, they are managed with organic and biodynamic practices.  Closerie de Pelan encompasses 42 total hectares, most of which—besides a small parcel of Sauvignon Blanc—are planted to roughly 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, at altitudes of 50 to 80 meters.

After the Amoreau's took over the Pelan estate, they endeavored to release the many back-vintages of bottles stored in the old cellars, and had the large stash of Bordeaux rouge bottles cleaned up, topped with red wax, and labeled for Rosenthal to import them to America. We are pleased to have access to a number of vintages, including 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2015. Inquire about other vintages if interested.
