Scar of the Sea 'Topotero' Methode Ancestral Pinot Noir Rosé, California 2024
Scar of the Sea was established in 2012 and is owned & operated by Mikey & Gina Giugni in San Luis Obispo, California. They work directly with growers at carefully selected vineyard sites. People who are instrumental in the future of agriculture. In the cellar, the wine are crafted with as little intervention as possible, made with the intention to tell a story of where they come from.
Topotero is a small organically managed vineyard in San Luis Obispo in the coastal town of Avila Beach. Pinot Noir from this single site is given brief skin contact before being vinified and bottled in the ancestral method, otherwise known as Petillant Naturel. This particular pet-nat is given a taste of the Champagne treatment as it's disgorged and bottled with a cork and cage, resulting in particularly creamy and lush carbonation. Notes of strawberry shortcake and sea spray make this an absolutely delicious summer treat to be enjoyed with the best of friends on the sunniest of afternoons.
