Pinhook produces vintage whiskeys that are naturally different from year to year, unlike other Kentucky producers who try to cover the annual variations in climate and barrels by blending out those distinctions. The term "Pinhook" refers to the old Kentucky practice of selecting foals and nurturing them into race horses, much like Pinhook's approach to selecting grains and barrels to produce unique and individual whiskeys. 

Pinhook's Bourbon is a classic Kentucky Straight Bourbon, meaning that each batch is produced individually instead of using leftover sour mash from previous batches. All grains are sourced locally, and the 2024 has a bill of 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% barley. This vintage is still overproof, but a bit more tempered than previous years at 98 proof. It is well polished and smooth, with a touch of spicy character and toasty butterscotch notes.
