Charles Dufour is a young grower and winemaker, farming 6 certified organic hectares in Landreville in Côtes des Bars in the south of the Champagne region. His wines are unique and complex, always utilizing Pinot Blanc in the cepage, and always unfined, unfiltered, and bottled without sulfur.
This release of his flagship 'Bulles de Comptoir' is composed of 80% base vintage 2021, with 15% coming from a réserve perpétuelle containing vintages 2010-2020, and the last 5% coming from Dufour’s especially unique large foudre of réserve perpétuelle, vintages 1982-2009. Aging for 9 months in barrels, plus 3 months in stainless steel, plus 15 months in bottle on its fine lees. Disgorged Jan 2024, extra-brut with less than 2g/L dosage.
Grapes: 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Blanc - From three sites in the Vallée de l’Ource: Landreville (80%), Celles-sur-Ource (10%) and Essoyes (10%)
