Sergio Loi produces single variety wines in the mountainous and remote southeast of Sardegna. Canonau is the main red wine grape here, which is genetically the same as Grenache in France and Garnacha in Spain. Sergio ferments entirely in cement to retain the freshness and vivacious energy of this varietal, producing a smoky and spicy but highly drinkable red.
