Domaine Comte Abbatucci 'Cuvée Faustine' Rosé, Corsica 2023
Domaine Comte Abbatucci 'Cuvée Faustine' Rosé, Corsica 2023
Jean-Charles Abbatucci is a prominent personality in Ajaccio, with a family history dating back to the French Revolution. His name is visible on various landmarks, street corners, and wine bars in the capital city. Jean-Charles is a passionate supporter of Corsican culture and advocates for biodynamic viticulture. Hence, he is renowned for producing exceptional wines on this remote and rugged island.
The wine is made mostly from Sciaccarellu (Chya-ca-ray-loo). The palate oozes blood orange and grapefruit with a saline-laden finish. If you like rosé from Bandol, try this. This is a wine I look forward to every year. 2022 was an exceptional vintage in Corsica. I tasted this wine with Jean-Charles in the winter of 2023 and can attest to its pure deliciousness. -Kimberly
