Poco a Poco Chardonnay, Mendocino County, California 2021
Poco a Poco Chardonnay, Mendocino County, California 2021
The fruit for Poco a Poco Chardonnay grows about 9 miles from the Pacific coast, in Ghianda Rose Vineyard. This producer has long made an effort to follow organic and biodynamic practices for over 30 years, giving particular attention to the vineyards in order to produce the highest quality fruit in Mendocino County.
The Ghianda Rose Vineyard grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using native yeast, followed by a secondary malolactic fermentation in neutral oak to achieve a complex yet fresh character with bright acidity and a pleasant long finish. On the nose this wine presents lovely aromas of citrus fruit like Mayer lemon and orange zest.
Pairing: Scallop crudo with yuzu, basil and lime, California grilled chicken breast with avocado and hearts of palm salad.
