Nittnaus Blauer Zweigelt, Burgenland, Austria 2020
Nittnaus Blauer Zweigelt, Burgenland, Austria 2020
Anitta and Hans Nittnaus’ Zweigelt comes from vines planted in the loess of the Parndorf plain, between the Leitha hills and Lake Neusiedl in the Burgenland, a region bordering Hungary along its entire eastern flank. They do everything naturally and let the wine speak for itself. Spontaneously fermented, it spends 12 months aging in used 500-liter oak casks from the renowned Stockinger cooperage. Bottled with minimal sulfur. This wine has great concentration and depth despite the low ABV. Spicy, with purple fruit notes and structured acidity.
Pairing: Charcuterie, wild boar bolognese
Grape: Zweigelt
Soil: Sandy clay with varying levels of flint
Viticulture: Biodynamic
