Sagaponack Farm Distillery Potato Vodka

Sagaponack Farm Distillery Potato Vodka
The Foster family has been growing potatoes in the famed Bridgehampton Loam soils since 1870 when Captain Dean Foster traded in his harpoon for a hoe and began this family farming legacy. Long Island potatoes were renowned as the best in the northeast until recent decades when residential development and vineyards gradually replaced most of the remaining potato farms. Marilee and Dean Foster are one of the very last families to continue farming spuds and preserving the world-class farmland of the East End, adding value to their agricultural products by fermenting and distilling them into top-notch spirits at Sagaponack Farm Distillery.
Estate grown potatoes are fermented and distilled on site in their distillery to make their potato vodka. The vodka is smooth and rich, with a density and depth of flavor you don't find in vodkas made from corn or other grains. As it's made from 100% potatoes, it is naturally gluten free and additive free. Excellent in a dry vodka soda or a Martini, especially the Gibson version. This is a great way to drink local and support the rich agricultural history of eastern Long Island.
