Domaine Collotte 'Les Grasse Tetes', Marsannay, Burgundy 2022
Philippe Collotte's daughter, Isabelle, now runs this estate consisting of 5 parcels in Marsannay of some 50-year-old vines. Isabelle carries on her father's philosophy and love of the vineyards, opting for lower yields, no herbicides ever, careful fruit selection before and at harvest, full de-stemming, and low-intervention cellar work. Collotte's yields are well below the appellation's allowances, ensuring that hard work in the vines promotes healthy grapes for excellent wine. Isabelle's family has deep roots in the village of Marsannay; like her ancestors, she believes in the authenticity and purity of the region. This single-vineyard cuvee displays that rounded fruit and rustic minerality we all love. Pretty nose with bright but light fruit including bouncy cherry and wild rapsberries. A perfectly honest Burgundy to be enjoyed straight away.
