Nada Giuseppe Langhe Nebbiolo, Italy 2023
Nada Giuseppe Langhe Nebbiolo, Italy 2023
The winery and vineyards of Giuseppe Nada are based in the village of Treiso, the smallest and highest in elevation of the three towns that make up the Barbaresco DOCG. Treiso is known for producing some of the most elegant Barbaresco, and that shines through in Nada's Langhe Nebbiolo. Of the roughly 6 hectares of vineyards Nada owns, 0.8 hectare of grapes in the crus of Marcarini and Casot are used for the Langhe Nebbiolo. These vineyards sit at 350m elevation, and the oldest vines were planted in 1980 and the youngest in 2012. Marcarini is exposed to the southeast whereas Casot faces southwest, and both are farmed by hand without chemical treatments. This wine is aged entirely in stainless steel - fresh and crunchy, with a beautiful bouquet on the nose and a pop of cherry on the palate - everything you want from a Langhe Nebbiolo and nothing more.
