Jean-Francois Jacouton 'Resilience' Saint-Peray, Rhône, France 2021
Jean-Francois Jacouton 'Resilience' Saint-Peray, Rhône, France 2021
Jean-Francois Jacouton owns a handful of parcels in northern Rhone from which he produces an array of high-quality wines. All vineyards are herbicide free, practicing organic, and managed and harvested by hand. Before tending his own vines, Jean-Francois studied with Domaine Rostaing in Cote-Rotie, and Pierre Boniface in Savoie, which is evident in the lively and taut style of his wines.
This even blend of Roussanne and Marsanne has excellent acidity due to the granite soils, a nose of sun-baked stone and peach blossom, and a full mid-palate leading into a luscious peach note that lingers on the finish. Despite the layers of fruit and mineral notes, it is exceptionally light on its feet. It's a treat to access such beautiful north Rhône wine at an affordable price.
