La Gerla is a Montalcino estate totalling 11.5 hectares today, planted to 100% Sangiovese Grosso. This entry level red is produced from their youngest vines in Castelnuovo, part of the Brunello zone, which basically makes this a Rosso di Montalcino and an amazing value for those seeking good Italian red for the dinner table. The organically grown grapes are hand harvested and fermented in tank before aging 4 months in Slavonian botti.
