'Ungrafted' is De Martino's side project, focusing on sustainable farming of grapes grown on their own natural rootstocks.  This wine comes from old Carmenere vines, grown in the cool coastal microclimate of Itata Valley, which continue to produce a wine with power.  Despite its light appearance there is intensity here, with tart fruit and a long finish laced with subtle iron and tobacco notes.
