Domaine Rostaing 'Le Vassal', Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge, France 2022
Although this wine technically comes from AOP Coteaux-du-Languedoc, the vineyards, located near the town of Nîmes, are more akin to the Terroir that defines the southern Rhône. Think Nothern Rhone heritage, with a southern rhone backbone, combined with the charm of the Languedoc. The wines comes off as generous yet refined; with ample black fruit, and a touch of olive brine and garrigue on the finish. Seasonably crushable (as I'm writing this description late summer). This is a versitile red that plays well as the nights get a little cooler and Fall weather and flavors are beginning to come front of mind.
