The Pélaquié family has been farming and producing wine in Southern Rhône since the 1500's. Many of their vineyards on the right bank of the river have been planted since Roman times. Luc Pélaquié is the current head of the estate, after taking over for his grandfather in 1976. Until 2008 the vineyards were part of a larger wine cooperative, but they are now fully independent. 

Their flagship CdR is an amazing value, a classic French red made from roughly even parts Grenache and Syrah. The nose opens with red berries leading into subtle pepper and crunchy tannins. Perfect dinner red for any meal any time of year.
