Bedell is the only North Fork vineyard growing Melon de Bourgogne - a varietal who's spiritual home is across the Atlantic on the western coast of France - but this wine is proof that more should be planted here. The classic dry Muscadet Sevre et Maine wines of France are every sommelier's go-to pairing for oysters, so it is a perfect match as North Fork farm stands are plush with vegetables and oysters are served in nearly every restaurant. Bedell's winemaker, Marin Brennan, does an expert job of capturing the crushable acidity & savory salinity that Melon de Bourgogne is renowned for.
