With vineyards planted on steep slopes overlooking the town of Freterive in the French Alps, Domaine des Ardoisières certainly creates a picturesque identity. The vines for the Schiste Blanc are grown on south facing terraces on a shale and silty soil that are poor and shallow, giving good stress to the vines, and in return producing precious fruit. We are known fans of the Savoie and this wine is one of our favorites. Smoky and saline notes with powerful and lasting body. If you're a Burgundy drinker looking to expand beyond the region, this wine is for you.
