Birgit began her wine making career in 1992 when she and her husband took over 3.5 ha of vineyard from her family. She is located in the Kamptal, east of the Austria’s more well-known region the Wachau. Her wines are precise and energetic. White pepper, apples and citrus zest waft from the glass, the finish is long, vibrant and flavorful.
Pairing: Pan fired meat (schnitzel!), shellfish and grilled seafood
Soil: weathered soils of the crystalline of the Bohemian Massif or crystalline slate
