Styled after the coppery skin-contact Pinot Grigio of Italy, Cameron's Ramato remains true to its roots while faithfully expressing the Willamette terroir. Made from 100% organic Pinot Grigio from Abbey Ridge Vineyard, macerated with the skins for 4-5 hours before pressing to extract the more subtle notes and only the most delicate of tannins.
The aromas are captured expertly and present a fan of fruit and herbal tones including apricot, quince, dill, and coastal pine forest, with spice notes that linger on the tongue in a long finish. This is well worth trying whether you're a fan of skin-contact wines or crisp aromatic whites.
John Paul Cameron is among Willamette's most respected winemakers, due to his access to old-vines at Clos Electrique and Abbey Ridge Vineyards, and the simple fact that he's been at it since 1984, always keeping production small and quality-focused.
