Candialle 'La Misse di Candialle', Chianti Classico, Italy, 2019
Jarkko and Josephin restored Candialle after their purchase of the property in 1999. The vineyard land in Panzano supplied many of the surrounding larger properties for many years. But the couple released the properties first wine in 2002. This is your every day Chianti. Red fruits, herbs, a hint of tobacco leaf. The wines are elegant, pure, and fresh, but show great depth and concentration, true to their location. Pizza night, Saltinboca, chicken parm...all the red sauce.
Grapes: 94% Sangiovese, 3% Malvasia Nera, 3% Canaiolo
Soil: clay marl-like soil high in limestone
