Domaine Carrette has always quietly searched for quality over spectacle, crafting wines that speak in softer tones than your average Maconnais winery. This approach is clear in every sip, where you can taste the history in the vines, the hands-on work in the vineyards, and the Carrette family’s dedication to allowing Pouilly-Fuissé’s natural elegance to shine through.

Their vineyards are rooted in the chalky clay and limestone soils of Pouilly-Fuissé, soils that give the wine an intensity of minerality. The vines are cared for with the kind of careful, mindful attention that comes from generations of experience. Each plot is harvested separately, and all the wines are vinified with native yeast. In the cellar, the Carrettes follow traditional winemaking techniques. They let the wine develop at its own pace, coaxing the wine into a graceful balance, with structure and freshness that linger long after the glass is empty. 

Their 1er Cru Pouilly sees long elevage in French oak, of which about half is new. Expect a very full and rich style of white Burgundy here, with a luscious creamy body and plenty of vanilla and baked apple. 

Pairing: Grilled fish or lobster, poultry in creamy sauces, soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
