If there is a domaine to be buying 100% Syrah from, Domaine Gallety is it. One would be hard-pressed to think that it is from anywhere other than the North Rhône, home to some of the world's greatest Syrah. On the western side of the Rhône River, Alain Gallety is dedicated to every step of the winemaking process. Since the early 80s, he has been using organic farming methods to cultivate his fifteen hectares of vineyards to ensure the quality of the grapes. The red wine is aged for 15 months in neutral oak barrels with minimal intervention during the fermentation process. La Syrare is a dark, intense wine bursting with dark fruit and olive tapenade. It has aromas of fine leather, healthy potting soil, and purple fruits. It's highly recommended to cellar a few bottles as this wine is truly exceptional after ten years.
