Giacometti's Cuvée Sarah mimics the wild landscape in which it is grown, in the rough uninhabited land scape of Agrites Desert, a coastal region in northern Corsica. It was a treat to find this gem amongst the Kermit Lynch portfolio. If you are a lover of rustic Italian wine, like those from Sardegna or brooding wine from Abruzzo, this maybe up your ally. The fruit is dark and brambly with significant tannins and bright acidity, as Niellucciu is actually Sangiovese. But this is not like Tuscan Sangiovese. It has a wild side. Although the wine is 7 years old, it will benefit from some air, paired with a pork shoulder and polenta.
