Falkenstein 'Klaus' (AP6) Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Spätlese, Mosel, Germany 2024
In 1979, Erich Weber acquired a section of the west-facing Euchariusberg vineyard. This highly prized site is composed of gray slate and quartz, and is regarded as one of the highest quality vineyards in the Mosel. Today, Erich is joined by his son Johannes, and this father and son duo has truly unlocked the magic in these Saar valley hills. They farm with the outmost respect for the land, never using herbicides and keeping the yields low. The wine is characterized by its cool freshness, intense tropical fruit notes, and fine minerality, with just enough ripe sweetness to balance the laser-beam acidity. An exceptionally age-worthy Riesling.
