Susanna Grassi always knew that she wanted to take over her family’s Chianti-based vineyards. After living abroad and earning a degree in economics in the late 1980s, Susanna returned back to her family’s farm about a decade later. 

Today, Susanna and her sister Maddalena produce site-specific wines from the family’s nine hectares of vines in Lamole, which is often referred to as the ‘roof’ of Chianti, as its growing sites are situated at altitudes of 500+ meters above sea level.
