Bárbara Requejo Frutos has brought her exceptional winemaking skills to the Sierra de Gredos, and with the help of Chef Guzmán Sánchez de la Parra's passion, their new project has taken flight. Guzmán is a native of the beautiful mountain village Villanueva de Avila, where his family has vineyards and are bakers by trade. He is also the owner of the most ambitious restaurant in the region, La Querencia. Together, they thoughtfully cultivate 3.2 hectares of vines organically, considering the complex range of altitudes, orientations, and terroirs in Villanueva de Avila, as well as neighboring villages Navaltalgordo and Burgohondo. Las Pedreras, although small in production, is an impressive winery that combines Garnacha vines from the past and future, creating vivacious, age-worthy, and radical wines. This brand-new side of Gredos is sure to leave you marveling in the purity and grace of this Garnacha.
