The domaine started bottling its own production in the 1920s after the current Marquis’ grandfather, Sem d’Angerville, stood up to the negotiant's corrupt blending practices. As a result and in defiance of them, he became one of the first Burgundy domains to estate bottle their wines. Today the estate is led by Guillaume d’Angerville, farmed immaculately, and is producing some of the best wines in the region. 

"Just fruit from Mitans and Pitures, 50/50 in the blend, with no young vines from other vineyards this year. A slightly denser purple, a slightly riper nose, after the village Volnay. Still raspberry but the fruit is darker and a little plumper. Fills the front of the palate very nicely, then continues through in a darker berry mode."  - Jasper Morris
