Paul Bara 'Annonciade' Brut Grand Cru, Champagne, France 2006
Paul Bara 'Annonciade' Brut Grand Cru, Champagne, France 2006
Paul Bara Annonciade bottling pays tribute to an ancestor of the Bara family. In 1833, a winemaker's daughter named Annonciade married Auguste François Bara, a young cooper from a nearby village. Their son, Jules Bara, built the first cellar at Champagne Paul Bara. This particular blend represents the ideal combination of vigneronne and cooper.
This Champagne spends ten years on its lees before it is disgorged and released to the market. It is made of 100% Pinot Noir from vines with an average age of 50 years old. A bright, golden color, with a complex aroma revealing notes of ripe fruits, tarte tatin, and well-integrated oak, and just a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, it has a good initial intensity and a full texture, with pleasant tension and fine creamy bubbles. The finish is impressively long.
Pairing: Flank streak, short rib, veal. Yes, this is meat Champagne.
Grape: Pinot Noir
