Florian Lauer makes wines in the Saar and quickly developed a cult following for his delicious and precise wines. While Lauer considers 'Senior' a village-level wine, it is a single-vineyard wine sourced entirely from the Ayler Kupp. With an average vine age of around 70 years and many ungrafted vines, this wine punches well above its price. This is a Grand Cru wine in everything but the price, and it remains one of the most significant values in white wine, period.
