Rémi Jobard 'Vieilles Vignes' Bourgogne Cote d'Or Blanc, France 2023
Rémi Jobard 'Vieilles Vignes' Bourgogne Cote d'Or Blanc, France 2023
Rémi Jobard comes from the famous Jobard wine-making family, and worked alongside his father until his retirement in 1996. The Chardonnay for this wine comes from 40+ year old vines within 6 parcels in Meursault. Vinified in both new (15%) and old oak foudres, there is a richness to this wine but the burgundian terroir remains classic with crunchy minerality driven by orchard fruit and meyer lemon. The domain produces seven Meursault cuvées, three of which are premier cru. The fruit used to make this Bourgogne Blanc is some of the best of Meursault, offering comparable quality at a fraction of the price. Pairs classically with Bresse-style poultry dishes, custardy Burgundy cheeses like Brillât-Savarin and excellent companion to your favorite oysters.
