Tenuta i Fauri 'Baldovino' Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Italy 2025
Tenuta i Fauri 'Baldovino' Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Italy 2025
Tenuta i Fauri sits in the town of Chietti between the Adriatic Sea and the Appenine mountains, some 250 meters above sea level. It is a family operation, led by father Domenico and his children Luigi and Valentina. Working with native varieties in a traditional style, they also employ modern methods to produce wines that are at once polished and classic. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is made from the Montepulciano grape, but in a light style with minimal tannin extraction, creating a wine that skirts the boundary between red and rosé. The name Cerasuolo means "cherry-like" for it's bouncy mouthfeel and subtle cherry nose, but this wine is also savory, with fresh herbal notes, red currant, and a touch of saline minerality. It is incredibly gastronomical and a good pairing for all things grilled.
