Willett Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky is one of the regions oldest and most respected whiskey producers. The member of the Willett family that started it all was John David Willett, who was the master distiller for five separate Kentucky distilleries in the 1800's. It wasn't until 1936, after the repeal of Prohibition, that his grandson, Thompson Willett, founded the original Willett Distillery. After a period of closure, the descendants of Thompson Willett revived the family distillery, and have been producing an award-winning array of classic bourbon and rye ever since. 

Old Bardstown is a classic, no-frills, sour mash Kentucky Bourbon. Highly-acclaimed but not one for bragging, this has remained an affordable everyman's whiskey. Plenty of sour cherry, savory molasses, pecan pie, leather and cinnamon on the nose, with a smooth finish at a moderate proof that makes it perfect for cocktails.
