Hedges Family Estate is a biodynamic vineyard in Red Mountain, Washington states's smallest and warmest wine region. They use a full blend of Bordeaux varietals for extra depth and complexity, while keeping it Cabernet Sauvignon for the majority of the cepage. The fruit is pure and beautiful, and the final blend is aged in a combination of both French and American oak, imparting a distinct spice and tobacco nose. Notes of fig pudding, tobacco, cinnamon, and classic west coast Cab bay leaf tell you this is a serious wine with a serious sense of place... and although that place is Washington, you would be hard-pressed to find a better Cab Sauv in California for the price.
