André Perret 'Clos Chéry,' Condrieu, France 2021

André Perret is a highly-skilled winemaker who grew up with a father who was a vigneron. He initially pursued a career in microbiology, but his passion for enology led him to complete his degree in 1982. Perret strongly believes in respecting the unique terroir of each vineyard and works diligently to avoid the need for chemical treatments by cultivating the soil. He is renowned for producing fresh, structured wines with a distinct Burgundian style, while avoiding excessive use of wood. Perret's impressive winemaking skills have resulted in wines that can age gracefully for over a decade in your cellar.

Notes on the wines from John Livingstone-Learmonth - Drink Rhône

(tank, bottling mid-Nov 2022) clear yellow rob. The nose gives a pinpoint pear air, dried flowers, pot pourri, lime and wisteria flowers: it’s just sorting itself out. The palate serves fluid richness on debut, comes with several layers, has spine, a direct line of approach, a belle structure, the shape of a red wine. It lengthens on tannin; inside it’s firm, resolute, and intense towards the finish. Wait for this: from 2025. 2038-40 Nov 2022
