Chateau des Graviers' flagship Margaux utilizes all 6 red varietals allowed in Bordeaux, but is still predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon. Christophe vinifies each variety and each parcel separately, utilizing various techniques to bring out the best of each. All grapes are grown organically, and all fermentations occur spontaneously with native yeasts.

The resulting wines are blended and aged 18 months in a mix of 225-liter barriques (25% of which are new), some neutral 600-liter tonneaux, and a touch of clay jar and concrete. Complexity and power is the goal here, and it is well achieved, as evidenced by the wealth of dark fruit, gravel, and spice notes, and the exceptional structure in this left-bank Bordeaux.
