Domaine de La Renière 'Uru-Anna' Rosé Brut Nature, France NV
Thibault Masse took over Domaine de la Renière in 2018, along with partner, Guillaume Poitevin. He chose this domain because he loves Chenin, but was also eager to work with Cabernet Franc grown on tuffeau-chalk in Puy-Notre-Dame to express its unique identity. This limestone rock, characteristic of the region, is rich in trace elements and provides a regular water supply for the vines. Additionally, he was inspired by the winegrower community that is building in Puy-Notre-Dame and regularly exchanges ideas and equipment with his neighbors.
'Uru-Anna' Rosé is pale in color, nearly not even a rosé to the naked eye. The palate offers loads of underripe red fruit, but the bubbles offer a creaminess akin to that of Champagne. A lovely wine.
