The greater Montgruguet hill is home to some of the greatly celebrated Champagnes out there like Selosse's Sous Le Mont and Clos des Goisses. The topsoil here has eroded away leaving a pure chalk island along the banks of the Marne river. The Pouillon family has been growing grapes in the region for over a century, with Fabrice Pouillon as the new generation to oversee the estate. He is dedicated to the vitality, energy and health of the vineyards. In 2003, he began the work of conversion to organic viticulture and today he also incorporates biodynamic principles. This Cuvée is a blend of 100% pinot noir from two micro parcels on this hilltop: La Croix Blanche and Varille in Vallée de la Marne.​
